That's a short romance for sure. Tom's absolutely right, if you're not the right personality the romance of driving and fixing and living with a series rover can get old very quick.

Of course your going to get a lot of interest, its a Land Rover. Its either for sale or it isn't.

Every Land Rover we own is for sale, it is just a matter of the price. Our Dormobile is for sale for $50,000. If we actually needed to sell it the price would drop substantially.

Indeed. My 109 is always for sale for $30,000. Is it worth a 4th of that? Probably. But that is the price to me!

I found a nice series III 88 in a pasture with safari top that seems to be complete. I would like to stop and take a closer look but my wife always seems to be with me and she would not approve of another project. I agree you need to have the right state of mind to have one of those, and mine has always been border line. I dont think its going anywhere soon so I will just finsh my D1 for now.

The Next Step:

1. Completely overhaul braking system

2. Learn how to rebuild rochester carb

3. Finish replacing window tracking

I guess that's more like, 3 steps isn't it?

Glad your not selling it I plan getting to gather with you on my way through to the Maya rally. I hope you can make it down to Mexico.

Oh yeah! Series convoy baby!

In other words, today, Ralph wouldn't go into gear.

If I shut the engine off, it would go right into gear, however, when attempting to restart while in gear, with the clutch in, the vehicle moves as if the clutch is not fully disengaging, I'll be investigating, and I'm really hoping this isn't a transmission issue!
