In 2012 , the Max Tow option not only has more tow rating, but also includes:

Factory tow mirrors
Trailer brake controller
Bigger radiator
More payload
Different leaf spring in back as well

The regular tow packages give you 3.73 rear, upgraded radiator, transmission oil cooler (sits right in front of the upgraded radiator), hitch in the back with the trailer plug ins next to the hitch ( which ford did a good job hiding the hitch all you see is the square receiver).

With the Max Tow, you also get a different steering ratio..........20:1 for the Max Tow vs 17:1 without

Is this still true?

Max tow and/or HDPP also came with the thickest wall frame available on that generation of f150, even thicker than the raptor. I think it was 0.180” vs 0.155” for the raptor and 0.135” for non-max tow trucks.

What year trucks are affected by the exploding rear window , when the Defrost is used?

Any known problems with the 6.2L? What octane does this require?

It's a nice truck, nice features, low miles and a decent price

Carfax says the truck is from Quebec and I thought I remember there being issues with out of the country trucks, but I'm not sure what

generally warranty issues but that would long be out of warranty. Might really want to check for rust as well. My buddy bought a jeep wrangler that came from Canada and had an unbelievable amount of rust. I am not sure where it came from but he bought from a dealer in Portland OR. They did not divulge it was canadian until he brought it in for warranty work on his gas tank and they told him too bad not covered...he ended up trading for a subaru but totally took it in the shorts on trade in because dealer here did not want to touch it.

Aside from the land of rust ?
Of course a compentent inspection is in order...
I have never seen anything from eastern Canada thats not serious rust.
Yep. Ontario and anything east of there, watch for rust. The Aluminum bodies on 2015 F150's and up may show fine, but everything underneath will be rotted out.

Saskatchewan or any province west of there should be fine. Not sure about Manitoba.

100% going to be rust if from any of the large cities in Quebec. Not sure if it was from very rural if that makes a difference.

Didn't you previously have a 09-14 F-150 that you came to hate? What makes this one different except the engine? I seem to recall you having issues with rust on the previous truck.
Not certain of the model year the OP previously owned but I do know that 2013-2014 was an interior refresh with updated dash starting to incorporate a screen/display with back up camera. Might make the truck feel modern enough to sway his opinion

Decent price, but it's a tad too old and not sure I want a pre 2015 truck nor the 6.2L

Care to share the listing? May know someone interested in such a truck, and if they aren't looking at trucks I'm not going to buy has become one of my most frequented past times...

My wife bought her 17 Tahoe with 7k on it back in 17 at a local dealer, it was mint, fully loaded and priced well. After we bought it, we found out it was sold new in Canada, then the dealer we bought it from bought it at auction and had it shipped here. We were a bit upset, but I guess it’s our fault for not researching before buying. Anyway at 70k it now had its first issue, the automatic step on one side stopped working, took it to the dealer expecting to pay since it’s past 3/36, the covered the repair and said it’s covered under the 5year/100k warranty on the Tahoe.
