The internet makes it easy...because Toyota makes the best truck in the history of the world and forever. And, if you are over a certain age, Domestics are junk ( I know, highly disparaging to the average UAW/CAW worker but there it is)
Aren't Tundras built in the US as well?

Definitely noticed the 3.5 rarely ever gets over 3000. If it does your way into triple digit speeds or hauling a massively heavy trailer
Yep.
For me, going from a 6 speed / 3:73 to a 10 speed / 3:55 made a huge difference in my cruising RPM's.

Well thats the crazy part to me. A 1st gen tundra is on an 8.4" axle which is whats in a Tacoma. It's not a particularly stout truck.

I also don't understand why someone would want an overloaded truck with an aluminum DOHC VVTi V8 over a domestic monster truck with axles the size of tree trunks and a pushrod iron block V8 when reliability is a concern.
I also think they have 7.5" front axles which was in the pre 2005 Tacomas, the newers Tacomas ones are 8" I believe.....

Thats the thing, 1t trucks have axles, trans, Tcases and egnies that are more in-line with overseas commercial rigs like the NPR's.
