When I was younger, the maples here used to cover the road like a canopy.

Then the road right of way got cut. I was bummed.

I was able to get out and hit some Forestry roads today and snapped a few pics. Unfortunately Arkansas has been really dry so I don't think we will have many colors this year, but heres a couple.

As you can see we are still mostly green here.

Actually we had a spell of warm sunny weather this week, so I took an impromptu trip up to the UP with my 4 year old, and got a couple of late fall pictures- I think the drier summer made for slightly muted colors this year.

I think the drier summer made for slightly muted colors this year.

Last year was an amazing year, but this year has certainly been a bit of disappointment. Still some colour is better than none so I shouldn't complain.
