Family Adventure M1102 Trailer Build

Took a winter break from the trailer build. But started back up again. So far most all of the exterior is done except all the bolt on stuff. But we plan to do another shakedown run this week of spring break. See how we like it. Then move forward with more revisions or ideas how we see fit. Both my oldest son and my wife were enjoying it, and I enjoyed the help as well.

The exterior box will house the camp shower water heater. And will eventually be plumbed into the propane and the water tank. Its a stainless box, and is fully sealed, waterproof. I've just purchased a shower awning for above it as well.

Waiting on more parts to come in, and for the weather to warm up some so I can get it painted white.

A few small things have come in as well, so I've test fitted them and I'm drawing up the wiring diagrams for the 12v house system, (still waiting on the 300ah lithium battery). The truck to trailer 12v lighting that will be added with Anderson plugs and the wiring is coming too.

I bought a quick pitch box unit to go here. And the wood teak to step on to keep the ground from being bashed in and feet clean. Still waiting on the quick pitch.

Then the Sirocco fan for inside.

And a simple paper towel holder from Expedition essentials.

This trailers baby sister went to another home today! Looks beautiful behind his truck too! LOTS of memories in and with that trailer and the family, but we are happy to be moving on.

I also got my 300ah lithium in today as well.

Lots of progress since I've last looked! Coming along great.

That DC/DC charger - are you planning on putting that in the truck, or the trailer? I'll likely need one of these in the future too, and space in both is at a premium...

Well... I was going to run it in the trailer. Use Anderson plugs and the wiring cable to run it from the front of my truck to the rear with an Anderson, then one from the rear of the trailer to the front with another Anderson, then plug it in along with my standard wiring, but evidently it also needs the blue wire, IGN (ignition) as well, for the LiPo. Which is something I overlooked. So now I'm not sure. And if I get rid of that, I'm not entirely sure what to run. I'm not sure what else to do, and don't want a single IGN wire to also connect that. So until I get an answer, and I'm searching for one, it's on hold.

That was/is more or less my plan, too.

The ignition wire is something I read about, and my (possibly incorrect) understanding is that its only purpose is to shut off the charger when your vehicle shuts off, to prevent draining your vehicle's battery. To me that's not something I would care about all that much, and I can easily disconnect the vehicle-to-trailer Anderson plug when I want to play it safe. I'd imagine that with the vehicle shut off and both batteries full, there would be no charging going on (due to full battery) and thus no risk of draining your main battery, even with the charger "on" (and potentially having a small, parasitic draw).

Got a few more items in today.

The Quick Pitch shower, (just waiting on the mounts), and the Renogy 200w solar suitcase with 40ft extension. As well as the some simple tags for all the bags so you know what is in it.

I previously had a similar setup with a portable 100W Renogy.

If you don’t have a solar controller yet, I strongly suggest a Vicron with Bluetooth capability. Their app will show live solar input (wattage) and makes it super easy to check on the panel and reposition it for optimal charging. Even a slight tilt or rotate can make a huge difference and you will never know without access to live data.

This is currently what I have and am playing with where to put things. I may still make some changes. So I will look into it.

30amps of shore power, with both charge and supply capability. Redarc 1240 for the DC to DC and solar, then the Renogy Shunt, I'll also have the suitcase to add in, with around 400 to 600 watts of solar on the roof. Haven't finalized that yet either. I'm also trying to fit a Dometic RTX2000 up there so roof space is getting tight.

But should have somewhere between 600 to 800 watts of avaliable solar with the added suitcase depending on how I go.
