Doing some more to the interior finally. But before I could do anything inside, I needed to strip off all the front accessories outside. And instead of thru-bolting them into the wall, I added rivnuts since once the interior walls are up, there will be no more interior access to the nuts. Then once that was done, I finally added some noise suppression mat, and layed the first of the Havelock Wool for the walls before I ran out of steam. I plan on shiplap walls and ceiling, then painting it white to brighten the interior.
Insulation insulation insulation! Sheesh my fingers hurt, lol. Filling all the cracks and packing it in anywhere I can fit it. It's coming together slowly though. I also added some blocking where I will need extra wall attachment points. Can't wait to get the walls up.
Got a few more panels in. All the Havelock wool was covered in Smartshield radiant barrier. I hope to line the roof with some more barrier, then get the roof panel on by tomorrow if all works well.
Just finished getting the roof in and cutting the access hole for the Maxxair fan. This will be swapped out for the A/C unit once I get back from our planned spring break trip to Arkansas in 2 weeks. My deadline for mostly finishing the interior is closing in quickly.
Now it's just caulking, corner round, and a bit of paint for the upper portion.
Bedliner, Smartshield, Havelock wool, and 1/2" plywood and carpeted floors and lower walls are next.
Then moved to mocking up the lower sections for the bed support. You can pull out the 2x4 rectangles in three sections, and this will allow me to bedline and get access to insulate, etc. then put it all back in for the final time. I used some 1/2" plywood over the frames, then I threw the mattress and carpet in to give myself a bit of motivation for the final product. Starting to take shape now.
Giving serious consideration to using this same Navy blue Coudura 1000 material on the bed cushions in the trailer as what I have in our Hallmark. Would tie it all together IMO.
Yes. I have a hitch design that I will be welding up to bolt to the rear soon. Will carry our bikes or motorcycle carrier, whatever may be needed. I made one for the last two M1101's I've owned, so I have a good proof of concept down that I know works well.
You can see it in this picture. It bolts on with six M10 grade 10.9 bolts.
I had to switch gears a bit due to the cold temps today since I couldn't bedline the tub of the interior. Should be warm enough tomorrow however.
Added a Fishbone Offroad mount to the side of the camper trailer that will be nice to use for food prep and cooking vs the tables we were using before.
Got alot done today, skipping around doing everything I can till it's warm enough of a day to paint outside. Caulking was fine in the shop with the heater on blast. But no way I'd paint bed coating in here. All the areas where water penetration could be a problem I added some 40yr paintable caulking.
The rear steps were added, and then I made a safety cable to put on just in case. I got that idea from Hallmark actually. So hats off to them. The tailgate is functional up or down without interference with the steps.
Then the C/O, thermostat, high heat/fire monitor was added to the wall indoors. As you can see with the heater, I could just keep the shop at the 70° needed for the caulking application.
Been bouncing around a bit, working on the last side box that will house the electrical, Truma heater, and storage. Just chipping away at the last few things now that I need to do since we are going to Arkansas soon for a bit of camping. Then I'll come back and finish up hopefully.
Got the wiring done other than final termination. That battery isn't going anywhere, it was blocked in and foamed on all sides. Very well insulated from the elements, and the wiring seems tidy enough. Also gained a ton more storage with it finally all in place. Should work well. I'll do solar final assembly and tie in once the exterior is painted.
Interior is pretty much done for now, minus A/C install when we get back from our next trip. But it will be plenty cool this trip. Also added some graphics to the door panels after pulling them to reseal to break up the monotony of the interior work. The rear door seals work super well, and the flooring layed down perfectly. I'll be trimming out the edges at a later date. But basically done for now.
