Looks good!

Curious - what’s the purpose of the ground wire running to the door of the box? Why does that need to be grounded?

I was simply looking for a water and dust proof box in this exact size. After searching forever, I found this one. It just happened to be stainless steel, and powdercoated as well, so I bought it. But it's designed as a high voltage electrical box. So..... ground wire. ??

A buddy of mine has been trying to get me convinced of one of these articulating hitches for a while now, so I figured I'd give it a go.

Initially it was ABSOLUTELY SLOPPY loose in the c channel. So I made up some sleeves to pinch it all together with, and used washers where appropriate. All tight now. Will be interesting to feel the differences towing, backing up, and what noises, if any, I hear vs the pintle hitch.

It's another one of those simple things that makes me smile. But I got my custom jerry can ratchet straps in. Had them made with the 1" clevis, 1" strap size, the wide handle comfort zinc coated ratchet, and the backing pad so there is no rubbing on the cans with the metal ratchet itself. They look and function perfectly.

Got a chance to add in the Maxxair 7500k fan. Very easy install using Sikaflex 221. I also got the wiring in that I'll be using to wire in all the electrical. It's way overkill. But it was made in the USA, and has a thick external sheath to keep any rubbing to a minimum.

Used the last couple days to put the first layer of insulation in. This is a butyl backed material for a bit of sound deadening as well as some lite insulation. This only has an R6 value, but the next layer is an R23 foam core radiant barrier. So it should be very well insulated once completed. I also have an R5 panel that will cover the thermal bridge areas when I put the wood interior walls in.

Made a 50ft extention for my solar suitcase, then hooked up and packed the truck and trailer for the Guadalupe River tomorrow. Will be another break in run to see how the direction of the trailer is going. We are looking forward to it. Everything packed except the refrigerator.

Loaded up the food on the kitchen side. Loaded the fridge and headed out. Got us a great campsite by the Guadalupe River. And hope to enjoy it a few days.

We've been pulling this trailer all across Texas and into New Mexico now. It has been pulling fantastic. Zero complaints at all with the mods done so far. And the only changes we can see will be minimal.

We want to catch the Continental Divide in Pie Town in two days, then head north, following the path described by Chris Cordes https://expeditionportal.com/overland-routes-new-mexico-and-the-continental-divide/. But, first will be a visit to Sitting Bull since we are near Carlsbad right now, then stay near Cloud Croft in the Lincoln National Forest tomorrow.
