FGs for sale

$40k seems too close to the brand new ones that Zupps have for sale at $49k.

You need to factor in that those Zupps tucks would simply be a cab chassis, whereas the ones on Grays, despite having a few miles on them, have a bullbar, SWC and probably parabolics as well as a tray or body on the back.

Hi Ben,

Almost all of that bunch are Hi gear FGB71s.

You coming up our way for the hols anytime soon?

Regards John.
Hi john, am driving through tomorrow morning but not in the truck. Booked again for next January so will have to catch up.

Off to Moreton in a couple of weeks.

The one I refer to had very low k's, but no parabolic, duals on rear and the tray would need relocating forward once the ROPS was removed. Did have an alloy bar though.

So how much on average are you looking at to get the parabolic springs, single tyres and spring mount the tray?

Hi John,

A guy from Sunshine coast bought a very low k 2012 for $40k from Gray's tonight.

Nice to finally meet in person, did you get to see the wombats?

Anthony

Hi Anthony ....actually got hopelessy lost in the bush when we left your place. Hahaha Not sure where we ended up. On top of a mountain about 30 or 40 k's away.....did see one little fella but obviously not the wombat spot we were headed too. Hey it was great to meet in person though. I'll try to drop in again next time I'm in the neighbourhood.

That 18 seater FG84 that went for $57 K in Brisbane would have been a very good buy. Ridiculously cheap IMO. Maybe less than half it's value!!!

From the photos, some of the units that were sold from the Perth depot looked like they'd seen their fair share of corrosive Pilbarra iron ore mining roads. I didn't really look at the crewcab that went to auction but I have always thought the 14 seaters would make an excellent camper conversion. Imagine sleeping / seating and a shower/toilet inside and a large kitchen / tool storage / bike rack built onto the tray.

Hi Ben,

Definitely give me a call if your staying at Munna Point again and I'll drop over for a cuppa. Jon E has my number.

Ahhh Moreton.....better destination than Fraser these days. Brad and Lisa just got back from there a couple of weeks ago. Said it was awesome at the moment.

Regards John

Can anyone direct a newbie to a detailed model list history for the Australian market over the last 20 years?

Dave

Hi Dave, Welcome to the forum. Not sure that such a thing exists formally. What is it that you want to know??? Anything in particular??? regards Jphn

Thanks for the reply.
Looking to know what changes were made at different year models eg. engine transmission suspension and other important stuff like no low range 2011 -2014 ******??
Usually Wikipedia has this type of summary but I can't find anything for the Fuso 4x4

The 2012 18 seater that went for around 63K was much cleaner and has done way less work.
Also had ATW parabolics two spares, drivers suspension seat etc but no low range and had a DPF exhaust.

I didn't really pay much attention to the 2012 FGB71's. Don't forget how cheap they were new and Fuso were trying to fire sale them all with arrival of the dual range 71 the following year. By the way, the driver's suspension seat is standard on a 71.

.....and I didn't see the 84 in person either but I know the guy that bought it and yeah now that he has it at home, he says it is a little bit rougher than he thought too. Still a great buy and an easy fixer-upper. Actually I knew the other guy that was bidding on it against him too so it was a shame that they pushed each other up in the auction. It could have sold for less.

Thanks Mog, that summary list at the end is the kind of thing I'm looking for. Need the Aussie version though, looks like the range is different over there.
Dave

If you use an advance search here on the portal whatcharterboat has had some great posts on the Aussie model range (when engines etc changed).
So use whatcharterboat as User Name:
Japanese Heavy Truck: Mitsubishi and Isuzu as Search in Forum(s):
and perhaps model, or engine as key word

I might try later today to see if I have sucess ( I tried with no success, but they are here somewhere?)
