Finally got my 1978 FJ 40 Shorty, I allready own my 75 Mod 2 door range rover and have added everything to it for Expeditions around Tasmania.
Have wanted an FJ 40 SWB for many years, Picked it up yesterday.
Original motor, paint. Well looked after model very little rust.
I am looking forward to removing the roof over summer and adding role cage.
We have just sold our home to buy a bigger one. Garage at last for me :)
This is where the 40 will live while I work on it.
Will post pictures as it is built up.
cheers
Safe 4x4ing folks.

Nice that you were able to find one that has not been modified yet. Even came with a bush bar. Well done. Out of curriosity, how rare are these in Australia?

Not rare at all

These model Toyotas ate very popular especially here in Tasmania, they are also all over Australia, can pick them up for $500.00 upwards depending on condition, good ones still go for $4,500 upwards;
Have wanted one for many years.:luxhello:

Very nice looking rig! Once the roof comes off, you will fall deeper in love than you already are.
