I would like to find a nice 12v Led light strip that can go on the the top cross member and also use the same one in the Eezi-Awn (red would be slick). It is just a matter of figuring out which one works the best.

Awww man, I just threw away two strips that I was going to put under my can-back. They were low amp draw strips of light that my friend ripped out from his boat. They were a perfect fit for the DC can-back...

Anyway your truck is lookin' bombbizzle...It's really turning out well.

Have you checked out the wheelers alloy wheels? Similar to the procomp's with the big holes. But you'd probably get a better deal on the PC's?

Are you going to put an ammo can/jerry can on the bumper? You're gonna love all that extra clearance on the rear bumper.

How did the tent install go? Did the set pin holes line up with the rails on the tent like mine did? Any squeaks? Hopefully they get that 3rd crossmember on for you...

I have an extra upright/crossbar from my old can-back if you need it. It's the tall one, but it can be cut to fit. I know dealing with that can-back guy can suck. When I bought extra uprights they sent me a bunch of unmatching hardware - nuts didn't thread onto the bolts.

Yup, Wheelers Wheels are the Pro-Comps. Should be no problem getting them. I am leaning towards the ones with out the round holes.

There is a small one allready on there... you need to look closely to find the ammo can. The tray will get a jerry can.

It was pretty straight forward like you siad. No squeaks, rattles or thumps! I hope they get it all fixed.

What upright? For the roof bars or the canback?

Thanks... Tango Uniform = Tits Up

First of all, Wil, the truck is looking great. Nice, quick turn-around on the redisign.

TU, man I learn something new everyday.

I found this and thought it was a great explanation to share:

"adj – slang: military phonetic alphabet for letters ‘t’ and ‘u’, used as euphemistic abbreviation for ‘tits up’.
etymology: from military aviation, where the flight attitude indicator on the aircraft instrument panel contained a miniature representation of an airplane which showed the flight attitude – climb, dive, bank; one style of the indicator was shaped with ‘v’ forms between the ‘dot’ – representing the fuselage (body) and the ‘dashes’ – representing the wings; (–v*v– see illus.) the ‘v’s were frequently referred to as ‘tits’; the term referred to the potentially hazardous inverted flight condition – ‘upside down’ – where the ‘tits’ would be seen as being ‘up’."

I have two can-back uprights and crossbars (to add a 3rd mount for the tent). The uprights hold the crossbar. They're the high profile mounts so they're taller. With a grider/welder you can shorten them accordingly.

Ahhhh I see. I was looking at that camp picture wondering what the hell is that behind your fridge. You gonna fill it with crap like I did? :shakin:

I loved that on yours! I would like to but it might just be a tad too small. I am thinking it might be great for dirty kitchen sponges and rags, but I will test out the used wag bags first!

Hmmm... My crossmember only has the spot for two, shoot me a PM and we'll discuss this more...

Too funny

Thread Hi Jack on:

That's a cool explanation. I always enjoy ready or hearing the explanation behind such expressions such as "The whole nine yards" or "Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey".

Hi Jack off.

Yes Wil's the truck is looking great. Do you have a front locker in the Tacoma?

Thanks, Nope no front locker.... My money tree died, and has only been producing pennies lately. I would love one. Did you get your kinks worked out on yours?

flyingwil,

How do you measure gals/hr?

Do you have a special meter or do you just monitor your gauge and do the math?

What is your typical usage?

Thanks,

On the last trip I used the GPS total milage from gas station to gas station and calculated the MPG off the total amount of fuel put in.

To monitor the gal/hr I use a Scangauge II. I am working on product review on it, that is why there is minimal mention of it in this thread. Details will be in the article... sorry to keep you waiting.

I'll wait...maybe my next issue of the Overland journal will come in.

Thanks,
