Sear Die Hard AGMs are made by Odessey. The Odessey PC1750 fits in the frame rail battery box.

The above link has a picture of the OEM frame rail battery boxes.
Don't need the spacer if mounted in the factory holes.
Can't find them on eBay anymore.

If you decide to go with the Battery Brain low voltage disconnect, make sure to purchase the heavy duty model.

To get started...
Consider the frame rail battery boxes and AGM batteries.
Wire the frame rail batteries directly to your under hood battery.
Add in the Battery Brain next to the under hood battery.

The low voltage fast idle controller and alternator upgrade can be added at a later date... or never, depending on your usage.

The Battery Brain has a 'cool' feature. The manual over-ride battery disconnect button is also, a 'sort-of' a Amp/Perkert Effect gauge. The more current that is drawn the 'brighter' the button lights up.

I don't know if a larger battery will fit in the Battery box shown, but I would recommend the largest AGM batteries like the group 31(100 amp hours each), for the most capacity.

Guys, with my access to a really good offroad fabricator, should I consider having him build a custom box for three big batteries and mounting them inside under our sleeping deck?

I'd have your fabricator make 2 battery boxes to fit on either side of the frame, able to hold 2 group 31's each.

I'd rather not lose storage capacity inside, or put 240 pounds of battery higher than need be on an already top heavy vehicle.

About the battery brain, I think if it does keep all the batteries in parallel, all the time, they should all be the same make and age battery

I'm not as concerned about the loss of space as I am about all that weight so high. You're right, it would be very, very nice to keep those heavy batteries just as low as possible.

All the batteries will be the same size and new.

V10. Not sure what the total range is, but not enough! Will work on getting MPG this weekend.

Should be right... but better check it out yourself to know they are the right size.

YES!

Use the Battery Brain to tie 3 AGM batteries (1 under hood and 2 on frame rail) together into one battery bank.

With an isolater it seperates the house and starting batteries into two battery banks .

The main reason for the Battery Brain is so you can get the benefits of a larger battery bank, than when using an isolator. With a isolator you would need 4 batteries to do what the Battery Brain does with 3 batteries.

Without a lot of expense your Rig is set up to have 3 AGM batteries and wiring them with a Battery Brain into one bank.
