The Disco is looking good. Get up here to Northern AZ and we'll do some runs in Sedona/Jerome area.
I see that you are in the Air Force. I assume that you are using the auto hobby shop on base? I think that is the biggest benefit that I miss from the Navy. We had an awesome shop with inside bays, outdoor "shades", long term project areas, and a great paint booth. You could use the shop and tools for a couple bucks an hour. I have honestly thought of starting my own do it yourself business based on the military auto hobby shop principle. I just have to win the powerball first. I don't think it would make enough to be liquid.

Very capable looking rig without going over-the-top. Hopefully someday our off-road paths will cross.

I had a blast on the first of our many adventures.

Thanks for the compliments, your Rover is quite impressive and tastefully modified also. What part of socal are you located in? Maybe we can plan a trip and get you over this way sometime.
MUSBJIM said:Louis - I am speculating your location is the Lancaster CA area. I travel there several times a year to visit relatives. I think Red Rock Canyon is fairly close to there and I've always wanted to check it out. I hear there are some fun technical trails to explore there. I would welcome the opportunity to meet/join other Expedition Portal folks on such an excursion (before it gets crazy hot out there).

Whenever you're out our way let us know. Red Rock isn't far from where we live at all. It's nice out there, especially if you have your winch hooked and and you need it.![]()
FourByLand said:The weather wasn't bad at all.
MUSBJIM said:Roger That! Who was that being hooked up to the winch-line anyway? It's always the simple-looking obstacles that get you. Funny how that works out, isn't it? Bwaaahaaaaaahaaaaa! Looks like too much fun!.
MUSBJIM said:Have you guys been to Truck Haven (Salton Sea area)? Very cool place with lots of narrow, off-camber, articulating, hill climbing tracks. Maybe sometime this spring coordinate a camp-out/excursion out there.

MUSBJIM said:Haven't done very much wheelin' in the Mojave. Going through Goler Pass (Trona) to southern portion of Death Valley, does that count? Anza-Borrego is only a 2-hour drive for me so I usually go there for my overnight excursions. It's hard to beat sitting by a campfire at night under a million stars...

Couldn't think of a better way to move forward into '08.

Calico would definitely be a good overnighter. I think its in the stars for sometime in February.:Astrologist:
p.s. the post count gets higher and higher.
