From Stock To Stacked...The Story Of A JK

Yep, I'm home for a few weeks. I'm looking forward to getting back to Iraq so that the engine swap can be started. :D Everything should be done by October.

While the RTT worked out as expected, I'm unsure if I'll keep it or not. I'm debating getting a trailer and will either get a different RTT or mount the current one on top of the trailer. It's something I'm going to have to research some more.

The roof rack is going to need some work. While it's good for moderate off-roading, it's not going to stand up to the abuse I'll be putting the Jeep through. In fact, I already tweaked the right side of it. We're going to be doing an exoskeleton, which will help support the roof rack as well as provide the Jeep with a little more protection.

I agree with the trailer idea. Especially the pacific northwest or any other wooded area. I don't know how you would get your jeep with the RTT through most of the tight tree lined trails. I have a hard enough time with just my snorkel sticking out.

I am working with the folks at Adventure Trailers right now to build a Chaser. I am hoping to have one as my coming home present in Sept.

That new engine is going to be BadA$$

Just thought you all might find this picture amusing. Don't ask...all I can say is the fender flare held up amazingly well to the abuse. :)

There was a tree on the left side of the vehicle (which cannot be seen in the video). I was either going to take out my left rear fender flare, or my right front one. You can see which one I chose. :D

I'll be going to the beach for the 4th of July and am thinking of removing my doors for that (at least the front ones). So, I'll have more pix soon.

Well, the roof top tent has found a new owner. After much thought, I've decided to get a trailer. Due to the extreme wheeling I'll be doing, having the RTT isn't practical.

I've found an AWESOME trailer and am now in touch with the company that produces them to see if I can put on larger tires (33" or 35") and make some other modifications. Among other things, like skid plates, it has air conditioning. :D And, it's not a huge thing...I wanted something manageable.

First post here. I was directed here by Jason. Great site.

BTW-I am the guy who took Jason's Rack and Tent. As we joked around during the swap, my JK my be the "B" Jeep should anything happen to the Beast he is putting togther. HAHA.

Anyway, we at Venture Jeeps and OverBuiltCustoms can't wait for his return. Lots of good times to be had. :wings:

Hahahaha...that was fun to watch your Jeep climb up on that tire!

Here are 2 shots I got of us un-tweaking the roof rack after I nailed a tree with it so that it would fit better on your Jeep. At least I finally got to use my winch for something. :D

Here's a link to a short teaser video of my Jeep in the rock garden at Hard Rock in Ocala, Florida. The rest of the video should be completed in the coming weeks. You'll see my Jeep slide twice in the short clip...it was a bit muddy there.

My newest edition...an Outlander Sherpa II RL trailer...complete with 35" BFG KM2 tires, same bead locked wheels that I have on the Jeep, and a Mombasa roof top tent, as well as a few more additions.

Note: this photo is a representation of the one I'll get, not the exact same one.
