Fuel Cans...Switching from Gas to Diesel?

Ok, I've got a couple of the NATO style cans that I've used for gasoline in the past, and I'd like to use them for diesel fuel now....

So, anyone see any issues with my just letting 'em air out really well and filling them with diesel?

no issues

if they held gas OK , they will easily hold diesel, its the other way around that
causes issues as gas eats seals

As long as you empty them, no issues. You don't even need to let them air out. The minimal amout of petrol left in them won't cause any harm when mixed with 20L of diesel.

I've done it before... no issues at all. Diesel engines are much more tolerant of contaminates.
