I Looked at a 2016 Power Wagon yesterday.

We plan on buying early next year, optioned with a 220 alternator, trailer brake control and popular equipment group.

Extra tow capacity to pull my crawler or Jeep, and medium size RV trailer are the primary reasons, but I also want the factory lockers and 4:10 gearing.

No interest in a diesel.

Just bought a 05 power wagon. Low miles clean truck, now I have lots of work to do to it!

12valve, that is crazy about your old truck. Makes me paranoid. I have -8an braided feed lines, but just regular rubber return. A few years back I had a belt driven fuel pump blow out the push-lok feed hose and cover the whole engine bay in the diesel/WMO mix I was running. It smoldered for a bit, but didn't catch fire.

Agreed. if you don't carry a camper or tow heavy they don't make sense.

Thanks!

They are Conti MPT81 335/80R20. I forget the ply but each is rated for 6,700 lbs and run smooth and quiet. No roar like the old 38" XMLs I had. Great tire for anyone looking for something larger.

MPG, torque, time to rebuild is nice with a diesel....

Though I hear its not the case anymore with the new emission strangled diesels and just from the internet stories would stay way clear of them too.

I'm a big fan of the tall/narrow giant tires, Michelin XML and such. Does one know of anything in the 35-38x 11-12 range for a 17" wheel?

Here's a current pic for fun and to contribute to the post

only thing ive ever found is the 37x12.5r17 it's a good size and looks better than a 35x12.5 in my opinion. But I wish there was one that was a 37x11r17

both cooper and goodyear make nice 37x12.5s though.

I run coopers

I like the narrower 37" Coops too. Agreed a 37-11.50-17 would be fine. I need the E range though with the camper. The Toyo's are just too wide. Yoko has a nice 37 but once again a D.

Toyo also makes stuff for 17". I'm sure other brands do to. If want MPT XL/XZL, etc type tires you can either go down a size to a 16" or up to a 20". 16" wheels can be iffy on a 2nd gen RAM on the front due to caliper clearance issues.

I suppose I just want the xzl's for the ************ factor. I'm running 3rd gen brakes and tie rods so I'm committed to 17" and up.

I'll have to make the decision between 35x12.5 and 37x12.5 when I'm ready to spend $1500....and that's not soon.
