Full size winch bumpers

You are missing my point.

With the given length and conductor you are currently running, you are considerably better off (and safer in many respects) hauling around less winch.

Less weight, less potential current draw.

So figure your conductor size and length, and do the math for max allowable current draw, then find a winch that is safely within that value.

It isnt a 16,500 Warn ;)

Kenny, you are clearly only considering ONE of the 3 mounting and use modes. When it is fixed mounted either front or rear it has no additional voltage drop from a "normal" installation and when mounted remotely it is still a very large and capable winch and the losses are clearly nothing like that which you anticipate. I have done the sums and I have used it for many years. You have done neither.
Open your mind.

And you are obviously taking it personally Peter. Step back a bit and realize this was never an attack.

You posted your self proclaimed benefit of this "portable" setup, and I simply posted the shortcomings and hazards.
For the sake of a forum like this, its more than beneficial to point out such things. Regardless of your pride.
Id hate to see somebody replicate what you are running, only to get hurt.

Dont like me calling how I see it? Tough. It doesn't change the fact that running remotely you are grossly underwired for the winch.
No matter how you sugar coat it, or gloat for that matter, will change those facts.
