So much so that this Landy Freak has signed up to this forum! Have been meaning to for a while as there's lots of references to it, but this build has motivated me to do it!

Alan, I take my hat off to you, what an undertaking! Loving your metalwork and ability to keep going with this project! Good work. You have yet another follower! Cheers. Simon. :ylsmoke:

Yep, I also found the link on AULRO, even though I was already a member here. I spent a couple of hours reading the whole thread yesterday, you are doing an almighty job Alan. Mate, hats off to you it looks brilliant.

Hi Alan, i thought I started out with a rough truck, but you have built a whole new one and used a few bits from the old one :) Fantastic metalwork and determination. In the end you will have a great truck without all the built in Fuso problems that made me reject it as an expedition vehicle. I'm on my fourth year of my build, but the end is in sight - just a few more months and it will be on the road I hope. Not sure if these type of trucks are ever "finished" though, I will have loads of things to do once it is mobile.

hope you have a great new year and get the truck finished this year.

Whereabouts in OZ are you by the way?

Hi Iain, the end is in sight:) but as you say they are never really finished, another few months and it should be on the road, then the job of building the slide on camper for the back, love your mog build I've always wanted one but could'nt justify the cost, we are located in Langwarrin victoria.

The cabs back on! now to tackle the wiring, clutch hydraulics are done, back brake hydraulics are done, gear linkage and transfercase cables are done, handbrake done, the zinc platers are not back at work until the 14th so the front diff housing is a hold up.

I am pretty sure that all the time in the workshop will be quickly forgotten when you are both sitting on a deserted beach in front of your new camper... :)

G'day Alan,
I've been watching this build with great interest and admiration for your skills & acheivements.
This is one thread I always check for updates!

The truck is looking awesome, love that Dakar look!

Going back to post #101 (page 11) when you did the front coils and radius arms, how much travel do you expect to get vertically with your setup?
Is the Fuso front end sensitive to caster angle setup? Do you know what the caster angle is with your setup? I'm not familiar with the fuso front axle so do they have caster adjustment built in to them?

Hi,
The front struts have 165mm of travel so if i get the droop correct i should have about 110mm of up travel and about 55mm down travel, i can't remember what the caster was, i think around 2.5 degrees but i can also adjust it, normally on a standard canter you can adjust it with spring wedges.

Finally got the bits back from the zinc platers, the battery tray is mounted and all the batteries fitted and connected, i also bought 6 Kumho tyres, could'nt resist only $266 each on ebay.

Battery box looks good all set up on the Vehicle. Those tyres are a good price at that, I have thought about getting a spare set for myself but it will still be a while before I need them.
