No i need to be able to take the camper off for day to day driving and fit it only when going on many of my planned trips:wings:

be interesting to see your design

im toying with the next big project
not sure if i should sell my body and build one
or sell my body and buy one
chances are the off the shelf unit will be better engineered (I always tend to over engineer a project)
and the interior finish will be truck loads better that anything i could come up with
was looking at the traveller sp140 (i think)
looks like big bucks but nice
either way ill have to either get rid of my current tray or get busy cutting he box off the top
the slide on is essential - gotta tow my boat
the boat is compensation for giving up a life on the road and moving back to perth so we can be closer to the grand kids we never get to see ???

Its looking very good. Congrats!

One thing I'm not sure you covered, but perhaps I missed it, how are you managing the front pinion angle with the reverse mounted radius arms?

At the moment the front diff pinion angle and steering caster is adjustable by slotted mount holes in the control arm mounts, once the correct angles are set i can lock it in position.

Ok, good to know.
I was mostly interested in how you will deal with the arc that the front axle is going to travel in - because looking at it, if I understand it correctly, as your suspension compresses, your pinion angle will increase, and as you go into droop, it will go the other way. Likewise, driveshaft lengths will change.

Perhaps I'm missing something?
I quickly drew this image as it might make more sense as to what I'm talking about.

That make sense?

Hopefully the slip joint in the front driveshaft has a lot of travel in it, as it appears the radius arm arc would displace quite a bit of "slip travel", if such a term can be used.
