Fuso cab VIN vs chassis number

Howdy folks, couldn’t find what I needed in the search function or the service manual.

Is there a difference between the VIN located in the cab vs the chassis number on drivers side frame?

Cab VIN is 17 digits vs chassis # is only 12 digits.

Not on my truck...
My VIN is 17 digits and the chassis number is 15 digits.
The VIN has 2 aditional letters at the start, but all the other digits are the same on both.

EDIT:
In the Chassis/General section of the workshop manual it details what all of the 17 numbers stand for.

Appreciate the info. My truck is a 2007 FG if that helps to track down info. I also have the service manual breakdown and it checks out for the 17 digit VIN in the cab but not the 12 digit chassis #.

I’ve seen other Fuso chassis #s on some other threads who also have 12 digits.

The 12 digits might just be a US model thing, but I am simply guessing about that.

UPDATE: found a plate on the inside passenger door confirming the chassis number is 12 digits and isn’t supposed to match the 17 digit VIN number.
