I think you will find all it does is fuel pressure, a disaster waiting to happen.

From the DPChip website:
The Injection cycle of a Common Rail Diesel system consists of:

1. The Point that the Injector opens (Start of injection of Fuel:-Timing point)
2. The Fuel Rail Pressure (More load and Revs the higher the pressure….critical in getting all the fuel delivered for efficiency)
3. The Point that the injector closes (This is sometimes called injection duration, bulk fuel delivery time (how long the injector stays open)

The DPChip can manipulate signals so as to alter all 3 critical areas, manipulating the injection cycle just like the factory ECU.

Are they telling porkies?

I can only comment on the DP chip in Australia as fitted to toyota's and nissan's, one of our 4x4 mags recently tested a large range of chips available in australia, DP did not want there's in the test, steinbauer came out on top, the other good chip is chipit in western australia.

its impossible for any piggyback chip to directly advance the injector opening, as this is controlled by the ECU, and the chip is downstream from the ECU. what it can do is increase the rail pressure (by a presumably safe amount) and increase duration. it also changes the setpoints for the factory ECU, ie telling it that more fuel is needed earlier, so the ecu can advance injection timing within factory limits. probly not enough advancement for a massive performance change.
