Thanks.

Also, do you have a transmission cooler added?

I'm wondering how well-cooled these trannies are, stock? I'm going to be moving up into the Rockies and probably using a lot of low-range.

I have serious doubts you would have any need for an extra transmission cooler. If the 3 is the same as the 2, it's already got a fairly large external cooler on top of the integrated cooler in the radiator.

Pete, how many of those new BFG A/T's have you popped?

Destroyed the sidewall on one tire. Freak situation, not on a trail. Have just shy of 10k miles on them.

Mine are load D so not the heaviest construction. I'm sure the Load E would fair better; however still not as think/heavy as some MTs (like Toyo MT).

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...

Well I'm on my 3rd set of Toyos and I'm thinking about running something a bit lighter on the Montero (like 37" BFG A/T's like Lloyd) and run the Toyos on the Mighty Max. The 35" Toyos weighed the same as my friends 40" Iroks BUT I've never had one tear all the way through the side wall, I've got some really deep cuts too. I saw you guys giving those BFG's hell on the Rubicon but the sierras don't have as sharp of rocks as AZ does so I figured you have probably encountered some sharp stuff elsewhere.

Yeah, Central Oregon has a bunch of the volcanic razor type rocks. I've done limited travel with the tires in that area. However, will be running trails for 2 days in a couple weekends down there. Will let you know if I kill any tires. :)

Any idea what average speeds were like on that 23mpg tank? I just did 2100 miles highway on mine and got a best of.... ~18mpg. But i was also hammering at about 80-85mph most of the time, and that's a lot of truck for that 3.8.

A fair bit was high elevation (over 5,000ft) with climbs and descents. I keep at 60-65mph. It is happiest just under 65mph. I'm not in a big hurry and enjoy the journey.

Thanks! Been having a good time with the new camera.

More adventures to come. Heading to Cabo next week (flying, but will drive Baja possibly next year). Then Death Valley for Thanksgiving.
