So if you had to do it over again would you go with the Firestones or the Duratracs? I found Duratracs in 235/80/17 for $179 apiece on closeout

No question. Firestone Destination MT. I paid slightly over $1,000 for 5 tires installed at the local Firestone Branch. I didn't choose them for the low cost but can't complain about that. Spent nearly 2 months researching tires before making the decision. Tires are the foundation of any vehicle build. This is my 2nd set of Destination MTs. I've run 4 sets of KM2s, 1 set BFG ATs, 2 sets Toyo MTs, TSL Swampers, Toyo ATs and watched most all brands on the trail. My next favorite option would be the Toyo MTs - biggest downfall is weight and cost. Followed by the KM2s.

How has treadwear been thus far compared to KM2s?

I think they are wearing better than the KM2s. The dealer measured the tread depth at approx 8-9k miles; it was down 1/32 from new. They have over 11k on them now. The KM2s had a tendency of rounding the tread block edges. These seem to keep better edge on the blocks. The compound is definitely easier to chunk on rocks compared to the KM2s. I've been running 48-50psi; previously they were running mid 30s psi. The higher pressure helped the MPG nearly 1mpg.

Have you thought about taking your video hobby to the next level? You do some really cool stuff. IMHO the only problems I saw in that video were more of a limitation of the cameras.

Thanks, appreciate the feedback! Yes, video camera and mic setup is poor. But try to make the best with what we have to work with. Been considering some different video project ideas... We shall see.
