Hey Corey,

I just read your OP and was going to rec NWSafes (I think they're still in Enumclaw? / near you) but reading further I see you already know about them. Nice people / family business, and overall easy company to deal with!

They moved my safe over to Black Diamond for free when I lived down there. You'd probably have a hard time getting it into the FJ and driving away anyway. If you're not in a ground floor apt you'll appreciate thier safe mover too...

Being that you're in A-town might I suggest an early morning weekday move as not to attract the wrong attention.:Wow1:

One more thing...

Corey,

I also got the accessory door panel...really good for storing documents and pistols...

I didn't do the light kit...I went to Costco and got a wireless LED kit with a remote...

Thanks Walt, yeah my friend suggested them after I let him know I was interested in one.
Yes, an early morning delivery would be good.

I hear some outfits use these motorized lifts that will take them up stairs, but they only have about three stairs to go up, then it is level all the way in.
Overpriced IMO and too small for me, and the LED thing is way too bling for my tastes. YMMV :ylsmoke:
The Liberty Centurion 23?
That is a pretty good deal through the outfit up the road from me.
Checked other sites and they want as much as $200 more.

Hey, that wireless LED sounds like it would work.
Good call on the document holder too.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Fort Knox safes as well. I've just begun doing research on the various safe companies, but Fort Knox keeps popping up with high praise.

Getting a safe is a great idea. The peace of mind knowing your stuff is secure while you are away from the home just can not be replaced. Before I got my safe I used to hide my guns all over the place before going on vacation in the interests of limiting my losses in the event of a burglary (which thankfully never happened). Now, everything hides in my Liberty Safe and I rest easy while away.

AMEN. Good place to stash cash, passports, and other important docs, too.

I am also going to put photo albums of my two sons from when they were little. and also pics my parents took 50+ years ago that I have into the safe.

Pictures you can never get back, and other important documents in case of fire/theft.

Change of plans, and I am glad I went to the store instead of ordering the Liberty online from them.

It was a pleasant 13 or so mile drive (Droid told me how to get there :D ) with great views of Mt. Rainier on this cold but very sunny day.

I went in and asked to look at the Liberty Centurion DLX 23 and it was very nice.
However he showed me a fairly new brand which is part of the same group that makes Browning and others, and this one is the same size dimension wise, but has a better fire rating, door bolts on top too instead of just the sides like the Liberty one.
DS23 ~ 30w x 23d x 59h - 530lbs.

Model is called Watchman DS23.

This model is harder to break into than the Liberty Centurion, more than twice as long fire rating, better doors, and the shelf configuration is better too.

It will be delivered two Tuesdays from now.
Lot of custom stuff can be added to the door too such as Velcro holsters to hold pistols, but I am holding off unless I add more pistols later.

Went with a standard dial combination lock.

Saw this site mentioned in the video, they have some cool hand gun racks.

Corey,
I would suggest that you digitize those pix and save them on a hard drive.
The originals tend to fade over time...

Not to be overly cautious but saving important files like that at a separate residence is sometimes a smart thing as well. Use a external hard drive and put all of your important papers on it. Then give it to a family member to hold onto. that way in case of fire there are backups. even safes that are fire rated can melt the interior documents of it gets hot enough

Yes, I have been meaning to take all of my old photos to some place to scan them in for me.
I have a scanner, but it would take way to long, longer than I would want to spend doing.

Looking at two different pistol racks now too.
My friend who I shoot with has this one in his Browning safe.

The safe arrived Tuesday of this week, and I am very pleased with it.

They hooked up the Goldenrod dehumidifier for me too by running the wire through the rear of the safe.

Here are a few pictures showing it closed, open with no lighting, and then the lights activated.

I bought some motion sensor ten LED lights off of Amazon, but I am not happy with them.
The light output is adequate, but you have to trip them again after thirty seconds when they go out.

I ordered a motion sensor LED light to go above the combination lock from this outfit a few days ago.

http://www.lightmysafe.com/Automatic_Motion_Sensor_Gun_Safe_Lighting_For_Combination.html

I am going to order the AC lighting kit with three light bars seen on this page.
http://www.lightmysafe.com/Light_Kits.html
Those are the old pictures on their gallery page and not updated ones of better/brighter LEDs in the light bars.
They are revamping their site soon to show the better kits in the gallery.
If you end up ordering from them, try the IE browser, as the order links do not work with Firefox.
He explained to me the page was written to work with IE when they designed it.

I will post updated pictures when I get the combo lock early next week, then later pictures of the inside lighting kit.

What impressed me was the lift truck they used to bring the safe up the stairs and to the front door.
I was so impressed with the lifting devise I had to show my supervisor, and we are now going to order one for work.
In our penthouses we have these giant electrical motors for the heat/vent system known as air handlers.
Sometimes the motors needs to be taken out and replaced/rebuilt, and they weight around 500 lbs each.
In the past we had to open a hatch on the roof and use a hoist to bring them up, with one of these we will be able to take it up the stairs.
Also there are big water heater tanks up there, with one of these UltraLifts it will make the job much easier.
