GXV Adventure Truck; how many here?

If you could live with something a little smaller you could consider an EC EXD on a RAM one ton chassis?

After owning my FWC, one of the key reasons I’m moving to a hard side is setup time, condensation, etc associated with pop tops.

I want to arrive at camp and minimize setup and take down time. And several other reasons

Starting at $185k, and while they used to offer an EXD cabin on YOUR own chassis, now they're only offering new truck/cabin combos. CS is a bit better (Michelle is active here), but still lacking in my experience.

Agreed, but comes at a SIZABLE increase in cost.

WOW, serious?!? How very sad...

Hmm, as I don't know you're real name I can't really comment, but we do try our best to be responsive and we have recently hired a new sales manager as well as a customer service manager to make sure we don't let anyone either customer or prospective customer fall through the cracks. We are very fortunate to have a crew of people who truly care about what they do.

We've been making 'pop tops' or more favorably lifting roof houses for a long time. Lance and I have a 5 minute rule, if it takes longer than 5 minutes to set up or take down, we don't do it or bring it with us. The EXD and EXP roofs are on worm drive actuators and we've set the timing to less than 30 secs with the push of a button. The stairs are electric and everything else is also push button. We're very lazy people. As for condensation, its never really been an issue for us but we have gone to exhaust fans on all models (the EXD does have an inset exhaust fan in the roof whereas the EXP exhaust is a different set up.)

Hi Michelle,

As I mentioned here in this post, you're welcome to send me a PM if you'd like to hear more about how my customer service experience went (with both of the above mentioned managers); https://expeditionportal.com/forum/...uiser-on-flat-bed.191665/page-18#post-2729969 . So far I haven't received a PM from you regarding this.

Also, as I posted on the other thread, thank you for being active here on ExPo. Your competitors aren't, so it shows your dedication to your brand, to your customers, and to this passionate community!

30seconds to lift the roof? I assume this is with nothing on the roof save for your standard components (solar maybe)?

Glad to hear condensation isn't an issue inside the EC cabins. BostonMangler fought lots of condensation inside the FWC(on walls and ceiling) even though he had 1-2 roof vent vans, windows open, turnbuckle doors opened. However, the aluminum "beam" construction of the FWC differs greatly from your composite cabins in terms of cold bridging, so condensation inside the FWC in colder weather is more of a given.

Just wanted to provide some follow-up feedback.
#1 Still haven't heard back from AT/GXV, it's been a month now.
#2 I've been very impressed with Michelle at Earthcruiser's level of service, and it was evident today as well when I took a tour of their EXD (on Chevy) and EXP (on new Fuso V8). Very personable, very transparent with what is new with the rigs, what's still being tested, changes for the future, etc. HUGELY HUGELY impressed with the overall build quality, fit/finish, level of detail I saw today (and I'm a stickler for this, with high expectations honestly). And the EC production staff were so friendly, even when we were in their way of working while trying to check out the EXP interior. They were also eager to share the specific details they were working on, as well as new changes (more great ideas) being implemented. Lots of creative people and artisans for sure. Earthcruiser has it going on, hands down.

Glad to hear some positive feedback with a higher end builder! Kudos to EC!

Yeah... I’m probably on 4-5 months and several emails with GXV that have never been replied to...

You know how picky/OCD/etc I am, right? So imagine how far my compliments to EC actually go; A LOOOOOOOOOOOONG WAYS!

Sad, but pretty typical these days, and even better for companies EC. I'm now a HUUUUGE EC fan.
GXV/AT; looks cool, but no service, no interest from me.
ER; ones I've been in have been nice build quality, but not my "overlanding" soup de jour. Wood doesn't belong in a RTW ultimate overlanding rig IMHO. I will say that this (https://earthroamer.com/pre-roamed/pre-roamed-146/) is aesthetically gorgeous, but belongs in my home, not in my traveling machine.
Now taking donations for my future crew cab EC EXP V8.
