Me and my dad got consecutive call signs when we were first licensed too, he's KC0TLZ and I was KC0TMA.

Wow, FCC works fast after re-opening. Call sign issued yesterday.
My buddy and I that took the test the same day and time were issued consecutive signs.
Me - KG7FYD
he - KG7FYE
But not for long, already submitted my application for my preferred vanity call - K7KCK (1x3 with my initials
)

You're right, they are cooking right along since they've come back from the shutdown. I took the Technician test last Saturday. My call sign was issued on the 30th. I hadnt bothered to check until today

I picked up a UV5R to get my feet wet. Been listening to a few of the local repeaters and police dispatches till I got my call sign. My only gripe is whomever entered my info into the ULS system didnt use spaces on my address and had it all messed up:
Had to login and correct the info, should have been E Las Tunas Dr #A

I finished both tests in under 25 min. lol. They made me take the "Extra" class test, but I failed that one miserably. I might study and retake that one if not just for the option for a shorter vanity call sign. I wonder when I'll get my call sign. I read somewhere that the "General" call signs can take a while and since I knocked out "Technician" and "General" at the same time, I wonder if it will take a while.

I took my tech and general at the same time as well, about a week before the government shutdown. I took the test on Saturday, and had my call by Thursday. Keep in mind that some of the time will be local, so if your testers don't get the paperwork filed quickly, it doesn't matter how efficient the FCC is.
