Ham radios. What is everyone using

If I remember correctly FCC says that it is not legal to have one radio that can transmit on CB and HAM frequencies.

Cb is am radio band. Ham is FM.

The 23cm through 2m ham bands are FM, but on all other (lower frequency) bands, the vast majority of communication is AM. Even 2m is used AM in some places.

While you're generally correct for vehicle use; ham is not exclusively FM. And yes, CB cannot/should not be used on a ham radio, you'll have to get a separate radio for both.

I have a Kenwood TM-281A with a 5/8 wave antenna in my jeep. I also have a Kenwood TH-D72A and an Icom IC-251A.

CB is AM or SSB , Ham is AM, SSB, Fm,, CW, SSTV, FSTV, DIGITAL, ANALOG....

FT60r for everything at the moment. I have a ft1900r to go into the jeep at some point. Just have to figure out where to stick the radio...

I spent months trying to figure out where to mount my Radios and finally bit the bullet and just did it. Still need to build a custom bezel to clean up the looks.

It's an old standby of a radio. Likely easier to use, though looking at yaesu's line they don't have a 2m only.
