Holy Grail Truck

Imagine if you will, half a coffee cup of little white BBs being poured into each tire...

I will take a couple of pics of the friday night work party. Don't want the natives to get restless waiting for more photos!

Thanks Drummond! The wife rode in it for the first time today and she likes it better than the Ford!

How does this not surprise me? Oopps, I dont want to get into another brand/make battle. I better just say that its all cool....:ylsmoke:

No, it's 300 hp more, but only on fridays after 6 pm with a flatbill ball cap on!
You're not a true flatbiller unless your ears are tucked in too.
Concerning tires,a local shop I frequent uses concrete grade sand from Home Depot in their 35"+ tire installs. Two "scoops" and he sees them for rotation only.
My new 285-75-17 AT2's only took 1/2oz to 1.50oz to balance w/stickons.

I'll take your word for it:elkgrin:

The beads weren't cheap, but at the same cost as a high speed balance I figured what the heck. I'm not sure about just putting sand in my tires. It's a cheap alternative I guess.

Glad to hear that the beads worked well Redthies. I just cant understand how something rolling around inside the tire can help the balance? Does the weight not need to be fixed to obtain the correct balance? Anyways looking forward to seeing pics and hearing about your first camping trip with the `Blackness´:)

I had a bit of down time this past weekend, so took the opportunity to fix the rust on the lower portion of the doors. P-side was just surface, so a grind, wafer thin coat of mud, and some gravel guard has it looking good. The drivers door had a 1 1/2" hole near the front edge, and as I hit it with the wire wheel on the grinder, it grew to about 8" of swiss cheese. Why am I not surprised? So, zip cut wheel went on, and the small Millermatic 140 got hauled down to the driveway. An hour later and no more rust! I'm pretty happy to have that cleaned up.

I also installed the camper brackets I fabbed up last week. They will hopefully be put to work in the next week or two. I also seem to have forgotten to mention the Firestone airbags, 2" dually spacers and blasted/painted wheels are also done. I guess a current pic is needed.

Thanks Todd! I also installed my home made (at work) camper brackets, re-wired all the camper and trailer wiring, removed one of the two 10" subs to allow for storage under 2/3rds of the rear seat, and installed a set of reverse/f-off lights in the rear bumper. The lights are on a separate switch, so will be handy for setting up camp as well. Planning to go for a quick overnight ear next weekend with "The Chileans", who bought the F350. We will work on "weon's" camper this week to get it more prepped for their Alaska-Patagonia trip. There will be a few camp outs to figure things out for them. Going from a shelf-bed in the back of a Defender 110 to a full-on truck camper (1st rv) will be a bit of a learning curve for them.

Thanks Drummond! I just loaded the camper on for its inaugural run on the Dodge. It looks "right" on the dually.

The truck is looking really sweet Redthies. I look forward to hearing about your first camping trip, and of course seeing some pics with the camper mounted. The Blackness is certainly going places...:)

It was a quick four day/three night trip, with around 500 miles of steep mountain roads, and a bit of highway thrown in the mix. 14 mpg over all. Not too bad considering going over four passes with 4000' or more of elevation gain, and numerous shorter hilly sections.

First night at our usual camp spot. Every time we come here it is empty. Gotta love it!
