How many owners think the new electronic shifter is better than old ?

I thought Jeep already changed the shifter design for the 2016-2017 models?

Edit:
Yep, they did.

FCA will recall Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger sedans from the 2012-14 model years, as well as Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs from the 2014-15 model years. For the 2016 and 2017 model year Jeep has already changed the design of the shifter, though it has not explicitly stated that it was in response to this issue. Other model years of the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger feature a rotary dial or a traditional automatic gear shifter that is not electronically actuated. A total of 811,586 vehicles in the U.S. will be recalled, with the rest sold in Canada, Mexico and other markets

Guess I'm in the minority? I like the auto and how the manual mode works. It doesn't bother me that it stays upright in one spot after shifting gears. I can almost always tell (95%+) what gear I'm in just from what the jeep is doing (RPM/engine noise, speed, etc).

There's lots of times I miss a standard. And while the manual auto option helps, it doesn't come close to making up for it. But for half the driving I do, I'd rather have an auto for that - so I deal with it.
