How to decode my Mk1 pajero VIN?

having issues decoding my Mk1 vin: L149G3024403
its 12 characters but the decoding sites require 17.
is there not a site a site that we could use to decode 12 digit vins?
need my specs for the rebuild.

That sounds like your chassis code L040 is a Gen 1 for example.
I searched for it but I had a thread on chassis codes and their meanings I was trying to get guys to contribute to and add to their signature.

Here's my thread, I was inputting solid data into wikipedia for easy access but some dork went and deleted the detailed specs and added a bunch of Aussie stuff but It's still better than it was and some of the basic chassis codes were left.
