AKA the Hunner Edition
This thread looks like home for Hummers.
I started my Hummer experience in 2006 with an H3 I-5 Adventure. After bolting on some equipment that added weight and even with some engine mods I decided to jump on an 08 Alpha Lux Offroad when they were rumored to be discontinued. I do some towing and travel in mountainous areas frequently. I tend to load up heavy. I also make some long distance road trips to explore other regions of the USA.
I have done a long list of mods and have had some custom fabrication made to improve reliability in some areas I felt needed attention.
I worked with Bullet Proof Steering to build tie rods for my H3 by phone, email and scaled digital images.
Another project for the 06 and then the 08 Alpha was an intake tube and extended bump stops and longer anti-sway bar links, starting as far back as 06.
I have spring hanger skid plates and steering rack bushing/sleeves for the H3/T made to my specs which I have made available to the Hummer forums.
I am more of an Expedition/Adventurer than any other type of wheeling. Hopefully this will inspire others to get out there in the great USA backcountry. Hope to see ya soon!
A work in progress, so many trails so little time.

Edit: I saw that my Adventures don't fit the criteria of the forum for "Expeditions" so I thought a quick backstory and a posting in Hummer Images was more appropriate.
I did take a vehicle in it's first year of production, though some may have been produced briefly in 05, ran it thru as much diverse terrain as I could and modified what I thought for my needs had to be changed. I chose some items from the limited aftermarket that were also better protection for the undercarriage rather than reinvent the wheel.
Although I never left the continent from which I started, except maybe a few whoops on the Mojave at speed, my first big Adventure represented here in a brief pictorial was one I studied the history along the way before setting out, obtained all the guides I could find and road maps and quads, installed a laptop and GPS with a couple of back up handhelds and set off from the Geological center of the State of Arkansas. I planned fuel and timing so as to cover a great number of highway miles at night so the head of trails were arrived at in daylight. I covered 4373 miles, thru 9 states in 10 days. I was stocked up with everything for camping, parts and tools to avoid delays. On that trip I did not have any failures of my mods of the suspension or engine.
The rest of my travels have all been to offroad parks in different states and other points of interest with offroading the primary objective.
I explore the National Forests of Arkansas extensively and pursue my lifelong interest in Photography.
