Here is my 97. I sold it over a year ago, and still miss it.

I always have loved the wagons. They are just too cool looking and the extra enclosed space is awesome. Ive seen some crazy stuff built into the rears of H1s. Anything from full kitchens to welders and new axles. The latter H1 is the service truck for sedona hummer tours and the owners personal vehicle. He has enough part to almost rebuild an H1 on the trail
i never met a person who owned and H1 sold it and doesn't miss it. i donno what's about this truck, first i have to tell you it is a chick magnet to the max in southern calif,

girls in here are tired of usual BMW and Benz, every one drives those, they want the alpha dog and nothing is more macho than h1.

pull in to club bunch of Ferrari or Bentley, but only one says get the f... out of here. its my place and that's the h1. and ppl know that very well.

its the only truck you can go kick a.. on mountains. deserts. wherever you want cover it in mud dirt dust, and the same night drive to club in beverly hills, and it still does WOW,

Thats very true. I think all hummers models have one or two advantages over the others. H3 could be size, fuel burn, h2 is more spacious and more power, H1 lots of power very wide(could be good or bad) and can plow over or through about anything it has to.

The only one which was half-way usable in England was the H3 - which although it looked massive, was not actually bigger than a Range Rover. The H1 and 2 were just too big for anything other than a main road! I had a test drive in an H3 and just couldn't stand the small windows! I wasn't wild on the petrol engine either - the fuel consumption was grim and it didn't really feel properly matched to the vehicle if you know what I mean. If the company had been serious about trying to sell this in Europe, they'd have fitted a good diesel.

On the other hand, I am very glad that there are people who do have them and who enjoy them, and I very much hope that they will continue to do so!

Thats awesome! Wish I had the cash to pickup a trailer like that

American manufacturer and a good diesel engine in a light truck meant for 4x4 usage: the ultimate oxymoron?
I agree. The H3 would have been an awesome rig if it was fit with a diesel engine. I would do anything to conver it but it just doesnt seem practical

We rounded a corner from a standstill (red light waiting for a pedestrian to cross) hit the curb at probably 3-4 mph..."CRACK".

To be fair, it did drive about 20 blocks before it really gave up the ghost.
Fresh crack too.

Overall I am impressed with how the H3's are...except for the motor...but I was surprised how easily the leaf snapped.

Thats really weird it would do that... To be honest when I first got the truck and had little off road driving experience I did A LOT harder things on it than that and never have had a problem. Ive got 66,000 miles on mine. How many are on that? Any unusual loads?

Wow thats pretty bad. I guess it was just a bad leaf spring or something. When my girlfriend drives mine shes hit her fare share of curbs and Ive never had a problem even loaded down. I would definitely have a conversation with the dealer about it
