I just spent four hours with the new 2014 GMC Sierra....wow!

GM went to coil-over-shock front suspension, even in 4x4s.....no more torsion bars.
A simple spring spacer provides that small lift, which is why it's cheap

Exactly. Coil springs first appeared on the GMT900 1500 series 4wds in 2007. 2500 and 3500 trucks still use the archaic torsion bars that deliver a bone jarring ride with limited suspension articulation. I have little faith in GM to build an HD truck as well as they have finally built a ½ truck. When the new K2XX HD trucks appear for the 2015 model year they will still be using the same frame rails that came out on the new GMT900 HD trucks in 2011...right down to the same torsion bars. I really like the new GM half tons but if I were in the market for a HD truck it would have to be a RAM :coffee:

My 2001 Silverado HD only has 56,000 miles on it. It probably won't be replaced anytime soon. :)

Looks like the first lift kits for the new K2XX trucks are appearing. Rough Country just dropped some pictures of their 2” leveling kit and 2.5” kit.

Same A-Arms as the previous generation?

Mazzulla has one hell of nice Mid-Travel 2/4WD kit for 07-13 Chevys.

I wish GM would build a true Raptor competitor, I would trade in my 10 year old K1500 4x4.

No need, you can build one yourself with mostly off the shelf components and 6.2 engine option, 420 HP/450 TQ (ford 411HP/434TQ) That Mazzulla kit pulls 14" of travel, stock Raptor is 11.2". Might be able to build it a little cheaper than the Raptor as well, will perform a heck of a lot better too! :)

I dont think it looks bad at all. Just need to get rid of or blacken the outer headlights, it looks "diamond studded" with the led's.

It looks "Be-Dazzled" :) If it had headlights like the Chevy, it wouldn't be too bad.

I do not care for LED running lights on any vehicle...looks cheap to me for some reason. Was it Audi that started that trend? I see
them running around town a lot, most of them have one side not working.

I agree! Led lights on the front of a car/truck remind me of those stupid light bars you used to see everywhere in the discos from the 80s.:Wow1: And again I think you are right when you mention the Audi started the trend. Imagine such a well respected car manufacturer as Audi being responsible for such crap....:ylsmoke:

Assuming the aftermarket will take care the stock LED running lights.

I think Audi is to blame for the current large mouth Bass grills trend too.... ;) danke Audi!

Saw this R&D truck on Skyjackers Facebook page. WOW, these 2014’s look saw wheat lifted!

This truck is also for sale on Ebay for a mere $59,900 :Wow1: Pretty big price tag to be one of the first kids on the block with a lifted new body style Silvy with ugly wheels.

Loving these trucks even more every time I see them. It would be a tough call which 1/2 ton truck to buy, a Silvy or a RAM.

Looking at the 2014 Silverado/Sierra in stock form, I was a bit underwhelmed, the new dash seems quite nice on the loaded Sierra I saw in person but, I still wasn't super impressed overall. BUT, seeing the pics of the silver Skyjacker Silverado, I've got to say, that is one GORGEOUS looking truck!!!!! If I were in the market for a half ton, I think I'd be Silverado all the way! (would have to immediately lift it and put some good sized tires on it though!) Thanks for posting those pics Larry!

Thanks for posting Larry...ya, thanks a lot! :Wow1: You're killin' me. Must fight the urge to visit my local Chevy dealer. :sombrero:
