It is 4x4labs. I'm sure I'll end up modifying all sorts of crazy stuff on it.

I should have fun mounting my 39" spare...since I think this is a 35 in the picture on this 80:

Sweet!!! Luke's bumper is top notch. So will we get to see the progress of your build in this thread?

Oh yes!

This will be both my introduction to welding, and the start of my crazy metal fabbing addiction/hobby.

Hellova way to start and a hellova puzzle to start with. Its like you started with the super 10 foot by 10 foot unicorn puzzle of metal puzzles.

Very cool but challenging first project. I'll be keeping a close eye on this fab job...

I did a rear bumper with a swingout carrier as my first project. After 50 hours I stopped keeping track of the time. I started thinking about how much my time was worth per hour and whether or not I was saving any money doing it myself. Luke's rear bumpers are my favorite for 80s and 100s. I also think it is cool that he is doing the kit thing. Save on shipping and cost but you get a production quality unit that you can mod for your own needs.

39" Spare OUCH! I'd hate to have to lift that baby up and I'd hate to think of what that will do to your vehicle length and departure angle and rear visibility, even with the huge tires on the rig that is going to hurt.

I like the puzzle!!!!

Great idea for customers that have welders!!!!

Have fun....looks like a great project!

Cool, that's a skill I really need to learn.

Any plans for additional reinforcement for the tire carrier portion?

That's what i was wondering too. The 39" military tire is heavy as heck and it's going to wanna wiggle i bet.
