I think the radio is dead

The Alinco in my truck I think is dead. The frequencies suddenly went over 225 MHZ and won't dial back down, and the transmit is not functioning. I think it is dead.

Any last minute things to try before I uninstall the radio? I plan to do a power off and complete disconnect (since the internal battery is dead) and see if it resets, but other ideas are welcome.

Would it work to just disconnect the trucks battery?
What Alinco do you have?

Many modern radio's have a CPU reset button or key sequence. It will clear the memorys, but worth a shot to recover the radio.

I don't have any Alinco radios but my Yaesus and Kenwood have this feature.

I had to replace the positive battery terminal, so the truck was off for a while. Now the battery works fine and the radio is back.

Could not find a reset in the book, but all is well for now.
