Some dramatic pics might help me convince my wife our JK needs some fancy new peepers too :)

Looking good. You gonna do a pre/post test, or some comparison pics?
I'd like to put them next to your lights and Scott's HIR burners and pull numbers on a level playing field.
They're quite the improvement over stock ---- I've "tested" the brand several times, my old Jeep, Jeff's TJ, Stump's XJ.
You're HID lights will likely outperform them but I wonder by how much...

As far as convincing the spouse, how important does she think it is to see at night? I almost hit a deer yesterday; just barely saw it by moonlight and slammed the brakes. The stock JK headlights are miserable.

There you go being all 'logical' about it. Sadly, my wife is immune to logic. That's one of her superpowers. But, her weak spot is bribery, so...

I kid, I kid.

I have an idea about a potential date for a headlight shootout. I'll send you and Scott a PM.

so are these considered fog lights by your definition?
They meet the legal criteria...
They conform to FMVSS-108 standards for foglights. That means a low/wide pattern, won't blind oncoming drivers.

For my idea of what makes the best foglight, I don't know. They're going to have the right pattern but be very white. I've never used an LED foglight before.
I'm pretty sure they're going to be perfect for what I want them to do ---- see the sides of the road at slow speed. I have a few roads that I like to take to commute, dirt, 15 mph speed limit, lots of wildlife, sharp turns. The stock fogs are a help but these should blow them away.

Yep. totally. I think im going to try the PIAA LED fogs. if they are bright bt still bad in fog because of color I will put yellow laminx on the lenses. I know that they do make them in a fog beam.

Sorry for a slight hijack, Hilldweller, but have you found a need to adjust any of your headlights horizontally? After working my way through your research threads and Daniel Stern's info, I've ordered Cibies, H13/H4 pigtails, and Osram 70/65's from him. I think I'm good to go, but I've read a couple of threads where folks have felt the need to do so used replacement adjustment screws (Mopar part #55078114AA).

Thanks!
Kevin

Only on a TJ and that had the right screws.
The only way you'd be able to really get any lateral trueness is with a professional beamsetter ------ and there are fewer and fewer shops that have them.
You'll love the Cibies with the Osram Rallye bulbs. You'll love them even more if you do a full harness and get full power from them.
Did Dan tell you about the new Koitos? I haven't seen them yet but he knows I'm into headlight porn and teases me with stuff like that. Koito makes an H4 reflector now and a sealed beam.

Curious to see what you think of the JW Speaker fogs.
Yeah, I can't wait, Matt. Sun just has to come up for me to install them and then I have to wait 'til it sets again to see them work. Dang the slow rotation of the planet anyhow....
The functional lumen count of them is more than the stock headlights and the pattern is purportedly remarkable. Speaker really knows their craft.

Some sort of lost...
Curious to see what you think of the JW Speaker fogs.

If you're even thinking about it, get them. I think I posted here before but the output from my jw speaker fogs is better than the output from my truck lite low beams by almost every measure. Brighter, whiter, more even light, sharper cutoff. Well worth it.

I've taken pictures with both on and they put the truck lites to shame.
