Some updates and recent destinations...

Wanted to upgrade the tail lights to LED, so I made my own. Drew mounting plate in using CAD, had them laser cut out of aluminum and powder coated.

4XHome needed a companion, so I built one. A matching Samurai.

Upgraded the front shocks today to King 2.5 smooth body w/piggyback reservoirs custom valved for weight of the 4xHome. I was experiencing some tire chopping in the front so I'm hoping this will take care of it! I was running the off the shelf Bilstein 5100 series before.

How long is your overhang on the back, and how often if any have you scraped? I thinks it's a great idea, my wife a really like the new Pleasure way Persuit ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ks9vdUifCxg ) it's a 22ft class b+ built like a tank. She keeps telling me we should buy one and add 4x4 or see if they will make one in a truck frame.

Scraped everywhere when I had it sitting level. I raised the rear an additional 2" (about factory stance) and it rarely scrapes.

Here's a truck version and has the new 6.7 diesel :) I will probably be buying one of these myself in the future.

4xHome

I just bought a Forester on E450 Chassis, and was doing some research on a lift/ possible 4x4 conversion. I came across your build. Insane, I love it. I am surprised i havent seen you in Glamis, as I am there quite a bit. Do you still have the rig? I havent seen any new posts. I have already emailed Chris @ UJoint. Inland Rovers is next. Just wanted to see if you had any updates, and if you can give me any advise on the conversion.

Thanks

I still have it! Love it, it's definitely a beast. I go to Glamis a lot too, usually camp on Gecko/Roadrunner. I have put about 40k miles on it since the conversion. I put some Bulletproof diesel upgrades, JW Speaker LED headlights and a few other little things here and there.

Advice? Do it! Many people seem to chicken out and never actually do the conversion haha. I would highly recommend upgrading to 19.5 or 17.5 wheels to run commercial grade tires makes it handle great and you get way more miles out of the tires. The custom valved King shocks also made a huge difference in handling as well. If you buy the axle/tcase on your own make sure you rebuild everything like new again it's worth it.

Chris will help you through everything as far as the conversion goes he is awesome.
