Drive a Honda Insight. No plug-in models yet, but it's a good car without a trunk full of battery. We originally wanted the Energi, but the tiny trunk was a deal killer.

The 13kwh battery is about 150lbs the Electric motor might be 80lbs. Whole kit is probably 300lbs with coolant and gear. For free around town driving on my solar power off my house I’ll take itI thought you meant a pure EV truck. My point was that a pure EV truck can do what you asked, but it might underwhelm in many other trucky categories.
Good for Ford on the hybrid front, but I'll be surprised if many people are happy driving a $70,000 vehicle that weighs 6000 lbs, and has 50hp to move it along. Very few miles will be covered by a Lincoln Aviator solely in EV mode. The hybrid side has more to do with performance and marketing than anything else, IMO.

There's a new Insight for 2019 that looks nothing like the two previous models. I don't know why Honda isn't promoting it more.

The trunk isn't much competition for the Ranger, though.

More than what? Mine wasn't priced much higher than a comparable Civic. I find that the Insight's seats aren't bad, but that's a personal preference. We looked at them briefly, but they cost quite a bit more and it wasn't nearly as comfortable.

Ah. I thought you were comparing the Insight's price to the Tesla's, and found the Honda more expensive.More than a Fusion Hybrid. Mine is a CPO 2018, SE with the luxury package and had ~6k on it and it was 17,900. There was no other Hybrid on the used market that was anywhere close to that price.

Jeremy, is that you?Oh, lord no...haha. We never even considered a Tesla, I'm not paying that much money for mid 1990s GM build quality and the inability to drive 1,000 miles in a day...lol.
LOL, let me tell you about the Cadillac CTS I got stuck with as a rental a couple months ago...Oh, lord no...haha. We never even considered a Tesla, I'm not paying that much money for mid 1990s GM build quality and the inability to drive 1,000 miles in a day...lol.
We paid $400 below invoice Titanium trim. $34,500. Then took $7500 in tax credits.More than a Fusion Hybrid. Mine is a CPO 2018, SE with the luxury package and had ~6k on it and it was 17,900. There was no other Hybrid on the used market that was anywhere close to that price.
