If your passthru is only for emergency use, I would simply use two separate doors.
This would also negate any issues related to articulation between the cab and the camper body.
Given that you have a luton peak, there would not be any weather related issues traversing between the cab and camper if they were not connected with a bellows.
Keep it simple!

Rear bumper fabrication

The habitat is about 86" wide

Tire carrier mount is installed last, due to tail light placement

When mounting bumper on the rear of the Isuzu frame, the factory has left and right bumper brackets that bolt to the frame (four bolts each side). It seems logical to use these, then weld fabricated arms to them with 8 inch 3/16 plate triangular gussets.

The bumper has two 2"X3" 1/4 inch tubes welded to the back side for strength.

Bumper was sourced from smaller school bus.

How many times have you seen a large pickup truck with a bent bumper?

Backing up into a obstacle is not unheard of.

Yes this bumper is massively strong.

I think using a foundation of a small bus bumper to start was smart. And it was only $400 new.

(especially since the width is about 5 inch's wider than US pickup trucks)

Good advice. The Rig can handle 20,000 lbs. with a payload of 9,000 lbs

The Isuzu NPR-HD has a payload capacity of up to 8,947 lbs and a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 14,500 lbs. The NPR-HD also has a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 20,500 lbs

Now there will be a slow period on my rig development. Logistics, transportation, will delay progress.

Plan marriage of habitat, subframe, brackets, spring mounts (not as simple as it would seem - welcome tips)

Sadly registration of the truck must wait, since a special application to avoid the commercial vehicle designation must be filed, to convert the truck to a RV in California and it is not easy when there is no complete rig to offer to the DMV inspectors just yet

Some dimensions

(with large storage box on the rear - plus about four inch space behind the cab, the frame/habitat length to where the bumper is mounted should be 14 ft 1 inch)

Truck frame top surface is estimated to be 42 inch's off the ground. Subframe and spacer adds about 7 inch's more to habitat mounting height.

We purchased four leather captains chairs seat for interior upgrade. Looks like this may take 6-7 months before this task is a priority.

This rig should cost after 4x4 conversion with warranty , 60% less than a Rossmonster Baja.

And a MUCH smaller turning radius

I'm guessing 20 inch's shorter in length.

Note: C-channel is so much cheaper than steel tube.

This is very strong for subframe construction

The outer flat surface is great for spring bracket mounting

Cutting scrap 2 x 2 x 1/4 tube with 45 degree ends makes great gussets for c-channel connections

We had the scrap tube from bumper construction
