I did another solo trip to Vermont and scored a free camp site at Somerset Airfield in the Green Mountain National Forest. The Jeep is a very capable overland vehicle and comfortable on the highway , it usually takes me 3 or 4 hours to get to the "good" class 4 roads.

I don't have any really great wheeling shots from this trip but I definitely put some stripes on the belly skid. We did 65 miles in 4lo and 650 on the highway in 4 days. 18.2 mpg loaded with two adults and two kids. Roof rack, no front spoiler and a/t's. The great thing about the V8 wk is it has the power to pass trucks on the big mountain passes like wolf creek, red mtn, monarch pass with the a/c blasting and loaded to the max. Love this jeep. I would trade it for a 2010 hemi overland. That's about it. I lust after a new JK rubicon but overall I think the WK is a better package for mild off roading and lots of highway miles. Great winter vehicle too.

I got my CRD WK a year and a half ago. The WK is a great road/off-road platform. The only thing I have added is a GDE Eco tune and 4XGuard front tow hooks.
I have been able to keep up with modified Wranglers on 35's on most of the trails. I'm running street tires at stock height.

I am very happy with the WK. My only issue, as stated before, is the lack of "proper" cargo space. Is ok for one person or two, but when I take my children with me is harder to make everything that we need fit in a useful matter.

Nevertheless, I wouldn't think twice to drive all the way down to Tierra Del Fuego in a WK!

Edit: I have included a few pictures running stock with 31.5" Cooper Discoverer AT3.
