Thats a Fiat Panda Cross, pretty cool little unit actually, doubt we'll get the diesel. I'd drive that before a Compass or Patriot thats for sure. Having spent a lot of time in both i'm not sad to see them go.

I can't believe this still hasn't been confirmed :coffee:

ChryCo probably doesn't want to say anything that will have people waiting for 2011 instead of buying now. They need the money now.

The new 2010 Ford 5.0 made the 2009 4.6 sales sluggish apparently. ChryCo can't afford that.

Fiat Panda is a cool little trucklet. Not sure why people are down on that. "Not invented here" syndrome I guess. Much more of a machine than the Compass/Patriot.

Agree completely. I work with the marketing/ PR groups in the major auto manufacturers. A lot of new stuff is coming down the pipe for Chrysler. I cannot mention anything specific, but it is certainly good news for Chrysler. Look for some neat rides to make their way to here from across the pond. The Panda is one of the best selling mini-utes in Europe.

My only hope (that I do not have a confirmation on - believe me I have tried) is when (or even if) the new Pentastar V6 will in fact be released in the Wrangler Unlimited. There is MUCH speculation out there. Even from ALLPAR. That said - I have been assured that the Wrangler will be taken care of and that Jeep has heard the owners out there.

Which is why I wait to purchase my Rubi Unlimited. :victory:

So...... After all of that, they still refuse to give the people the things they really want. real power and less fluff.

The Fiat I had when I was young showed me the meaning of the letters in Fiat, FIX--IT--AGAIN--TONI !

x3 In not bashing the Fiat, it looks like a neat little car, but that's the problem. Jeep wasn't founded on makin neat little cars. They need to retintroduce something like the CJ line. No fluff, just raw usefulness. :) Just my 2 cents.

You mean like the Wrangler?

You mean like the YJ Wrangler?

Fixed that for you.

And yes, less plastic, sensors, bells, whistles, plastic, and a diesel. I chose the YJ over the other models for a few reasons.

-Wider axles than CJ (More stable).
-No minivan dash like TJ/JK Nor OBDII systems/sensors.
-First model to have fuel injection (1991 at that for MPI).
-Still simple to work on.
-Very little plastic.
-Leaf sprung.
-Some creature comforts available as an option (A/C, radio, speakers, etc)

Not trying to start a Wrangler war here, but the newer ones (JK) have left many older Jeep folks with much to be desired.

Having said that, I like most of Jeep's traditional line-up.

I like YJs but to think that Jeep could actually turn a profit selling them today is not realistic.

Besides you an your wheeling buddies who is going to buy them?
