JK/J8 Flippac rumor??

Yes that is a new torsion bar....#3 to be exact. We have learned quite a bit tweaking the material, thickness of the rod and just the right amount of heat treating to dial it in to the combined weight of the top and tent. It's simply amazing how much difference a few thousandths and a few degrees will make.

We are also working on a hinge arm redesign. We want to have more material for bushings to sit in and greater thickness to facilitate mating up the parts.

We will show off the NEMO/AT JK at OVX with the first Habitat made from the new mold that has an improved front profile to better mate to the windshield and the latest tent design for the Habitat from NEMO. Expect to see updated pictures here from OVX!

We are close....very close

Great news. The new leading roof line on the Habitat looks really good. Psyched to see photos of how the inside of the NEMO JK came together. Is the full AT drawer system in place inside? And if it is, how does it work with the JK's rear storage compartment? Also psyched to see what choice was made for the rear bumper or if it stayed stock. Great fun to everyone at the Expo. Can't make it myself this year but will enjoy the photos and stories to come.

Overland Expo

It's Thursday night before the show starts. The JK Habitat is not parked with the other vehicles from AT. I sure hope they have one here to climb around in. otherwise I may have to take my checkbook and go home.
The red JK is here. That tent is huge up there on top of the 4 door.
Man there are some nice vehicles here.

Ok guys, I got my "fix" today and the twitching has stopped for awhile! :D

This design even in its early stage is impressive.

Technically, none of these windows in this version are entrances. I didn't drop in the entrance flaps, as there are still a few changes in the measurements and some of the details of the sewing. Every cycle there's a few less wrinkles, literally and figuratively. The entrances will be above the front doors on either side in the next one. - Cheers, John

John,

I want to thank you for the nice chat we had yesterday at the Expo about several aspects of the AT Habitat. I really appreciate getting to meet you and the time you were willing to spend with me. I really like the prototype rear awning that zips to the back of the Habitat tent to provide cover over the JK tailgate area - this seems like an essential option. I wonder if the attachment point could be arranged to work with the Habitat closed for a quick shade setup at the tailgate without deploying the tent? It was hard to tell how quickly the Nemo shade deploys with the various spring poles used - keeping this feature fast and simple to deploy certainly would match the overall Habitat theme. I don't think a rear awning necessarily needs to be as large as the demo unit and the material could possible match the Habitat, others may disagree, but quick deploy seems essential here. As I mentioned, although perhaps not feasible, a roll back screened moon roof (possibly even the ability to unzip the screen) would be a unique feature.

Looking forward to seeing the various elements come together in production for you and AT (and the overall Habitat team). Good luck with testing the new torsion bar on the Nemo JK. All the best!

Thanks again!

Wade

The tent is really looking great. Very impressed by finished feel of the design on the Nemo Habitat tent. Excellent work.
