JK secondary fuel tanks?

Does anyone know of any other auxiliary fuel tanks on the market for the JK?

This is the only one I could find.

I was thinking about something behind the rear axle?

I have researched this myself and the Longranger tank is the only one I can find. I contacted them about it and they will happily ship one to the US. As far as I can tell a tank behind the rear axle would have to be a custom build.

or maybe it was just an idea that I remember being discussed.

I don't know of a solution beyond the two jerry cans carried on the rear rack. I'd like to have some more fuel than the stock tank, but the space alongside the driveshaft where the LongRanger goes is occupied by the XV-JPs cabin batteries.

The tank size is tolerable on road, where the range is nominally about 300 miles, but given that you could maybe halve that in serious off-roading, more fuel would be good.

If anyone has a JK with more fuel capacity, please post up.

I may be poking my nose where it don’t belong but after having a 19gal tank from man-a-fre installed in my Toyota fj I would think twice about doing it again. The cost is much higher than cans and you jeepers have so many options for different types of carriers it might be worth a look at.

I'd bug Gen Right, they make a lot of custom TJ tanks, to see if they'd make a behind the rear axle tank.

With that and a muffler relocation to the underbelly I'd think you'd be able to have a good 20 gallons extra under there.

There are pics of an AEV done Jeep with a TJ tank in the rear. Took a good bit of body cutting to get that to fit from what I saw though.

Na, wouldn't say you're poking where you shouldn't be

There is def a cost difference, but there's also the convince of having an extra tank with you all the time, easier fill, better security..

Its also hard to match the weight distribution of an under the vehicle tank with a set of 4 jerry cans to be mounted somewhere about the jeep.
