Just purchased a Military trailer to build a family hauler

Great Trailer.

I just bought a m101a1 myself to build kind of a hybrid expo trailer. I plan to narrow mine up. Going to move the side in to line up with the wheel wells so that they are on the outside, kind of a supersized m416 look. I'm going to pull it with my cherokee so I need to get the weight down. I like the hitch you made for your trailer. I want to put a receiver tube in mine so I can run a ball hitch on the highway but a 360 hitch off road. I will be watching your build a maybe will start posting my build as well.

I finished welding the corner gussets on the RTT rack.
Un bolted it off the tub then primed and painted it gloss black.
It is now ready for the tent " still saving for one" and maybe a kayak or two in the summer.

I hauled the trailer 500 miles this past week and the truck doesn't know it is back there and it pulls great
at all speeds. I like the new racks because I can see the trailer now in the rear view mirror.

Still so much more to finish. Chuck kitchen, Battery box with 12 volt outlets and inverter, and a charging system.
More to come as finances allow.

Not much has been going on with my trailer. It has been on several trips packed with camping items
and is awaiting for a good deal on a RTT. I am happy with how the rack turned out It is a simple design
but works and is solid. Great also for a couple kayaks I hope Santa will bring this Christmas.

I noticed in one of pics that you have a four wheeler in the back of your trailer. I have that same wheeler, does the back wheels clear the fender wells? I'm think that with what I am doing there is no way it will fit, but did'nt know for sure.

Thanks

I like that first aid box! Where did you find it? Is it metal or plastic?

Nice clean lines on that trailer - love it!

Never tried a quad in the back, May be anouther members picture.

As for the first aid box it is a metal first aid box I bought off ebay.
Water proof, and sold it came from a teephone company.
I sanded the box and repainted it and added a custom vinyl sticker.

It came out well. and is water tite even when driving.

Any worries about people stealing your First Aid supplies if you leave the trailer unattended? Any measures taken to prevent theft?

No worries while camping and I take it out when the trailer is parked in the front yard.
The tongue box is not locked either and holds my lantern distribution tree hitch receivers table parts and hitch pins.
I live in Pittsburgh so most locals would not know what to do with it.

We did fine. The storm dumped lots of rain and the yard is a swamp. I learned long ago to take trees away from the house
and there were no casualties. Pittsburgh fared better than many other areas.

Glad you and your family did well thru the hurricane. At least you are ready to bug out if you need to. Most are not.

So true Don! When the Zombies are in the rear view mirror The Harley family will be
in the 2500HD headed out of town and to higher ground. I may have to tone the RED down
and be a little more stealth!
