KM2's on national Backorder??

yeah i know, and it's funny how everyone is talking about how they got theirs and how they are on their way...but yet this thread is about the national backorder.... o well, i'm not complaining...

EDIT: I just got word that mine showed up today...hopefully I can get them mounted this weekend!!

Well, the 255's are nowhere to be found! My guy says he can get me some 285's so I have those on order.

That being said, I should mention the 285s I have seem to be less wide than some of the other 285s on the market. They are a little smaller from shoulder-to-shoulder than a Goodyear MTR (not the new MTR which was just released but the one that has been around for a while). They rubbed only slightly on my Frontier with 3 inches of lift.

I received my $70.00 discount coupon from Costco in the mail recently. I called Costco yesterday and asked to order a set of 255/85r16's KM2. He took my number, said that people were having trouble getting them. He added he didn't think they would due to the volume they deal with.


I just got off the phone with the counter guy at Costco and he said he was told by BFG's rep (Today) that they would not be making these tires in this size anymore.

I'm sitting here saying hhmmm...

Well I did get them mounted them up today and I LOVE them, i have some rubbing issues to fix but its not too bad... here are a few pics, you can check my build thread for more info.

Interesting how many stories are floating out there right now about the KM2's. I've heard:

- not making this size any more
- changing/recasting the mold
- can't keep up with demand
- production slowed due to economic issues

I wonder what the real story is...

I placed my order and 4 business days later, I have a set of 285/75-16's sitting in the shop ready to go on the 4Runner. I guess it's hit or miss on how long it takes to get them.

I got the tires put on today. Man, are they nice! Much smoother and quieter than the 245/75-16E Goodyear MT/R's they replaced. I'll have them in the dirt for the first time on Sunday at Joshua Tree Nat'l Park.
