I needed a new hunting/camping knife and had a little free time, so I decided to make my own. It started life as an old worn out hand file from the 40s-50s. First I had to soften the steel in the fireplace, then it was hand filed to shape, heat treated and sharpened. Doing it all by hand without any power tools took some time, but it's 100% made in America and my great-grand kids will be using this thing! This was my first attempt at knife making, so it's not completely perfect.
Thank you! I just completed my second knife, this time using peach wood! I'm currently "teaching" my friend how to make one of his own.

I just took delivery of my newest all-purpose woods knife. Sorry about the stock photo; I'm actually not home to take a proper picture of it. I had one sent to my son as a b-day gift, maybe he'll send me a pic to post. It is a hand forged laminated blade with SS on the outside and carbon in the middle. You get the edge of carbon steel with a reduced maintenance of SS.
