since then the cruiser has gone in a lot of road trips trough the coast shore, highlands and rainforest roads ... the best upgrade until now ...
the Recaro SP-JJ
After that trip, needed to change all the fluids of the cruiser and luckily the local Toyota dealer had the oil for the H151 (since it's been out of stock for years as retail for customers)
That's right, in rainy season you need to be very alert on the road 'cause everything could came crashing down from the mountains ... from rocks and trees to the whole side of the mountain.
After 105,000kms (65,000 miles) and 6 years one of the rear shocks was getting wet from time to time, so decided to get new ones.
I'm happy with the performance of the Tough Dog foam cell 41mm but this time I'll get the 4" travel shocks 'cause my coils are the heavy duty constant load and actually I never got the cruiser to be with heavy armor or the aux tank that would make weight to fit the coils spec, so without weight in the back the ride is a little rough specially with the corrugations in dirt roads.
Also bought the RTC steering dumper, it's great for use in the dunes and everywhere.
From some time ago I was looking to replace the steel wheels for lighter ones and finally got a set of them.
In fact they are the same ones that came in the 70 series, wasn't sure about them 'cause they are 7" wide while I always believe 16x8" is the perfect size for a 285/75 (33") tire ... but they look fine and the tire/rim combo just went from 47 to 37kg, that's a lot of sprung weight loss.
