This is all i have. On the 2nd gen dodge a 35" tire will not fit in the factory spare location, and the way i re did my rear shocks was a factor as well.
It is not the best spare tire holder, but the fact it goes on and off easy by sliding into the receiver makes it handy. You can put a hitch on the receiver of the tire gate as well, just not sure what weight rating it had, i never used it.

Regarding the TireGate.com swing away spare tire carrier, do you know if the tow rating decreases? It looks to be a great design, but we frequently tow heavy.

Off the TireGate website,

"This product meets the requirements for a SAE Class IV coupling classification. Max. vertical tongue weight of this product is 750 lbs. Maximum towing weight attached to this product is 7500 lbs."

Our money pit: 2008 Dodge Power Wagon, G56 manual, rebuilt front end (Carli upper/lower ball joints, track bar, CroMo control arms, Spicer triple lip seal u-joints in front axle, PSC steering gearbox brace). Many more mods to come but they will be slow.

This is our do-it-all-vehicle. Tows, hauls, works, d-driver (I keep it parked as much as possible) & plays & takes us out to dinner as well.

to really apreciate it ya need to c it .
every part of this truck has been upgraded started life as a soft top , i gutted the interior dynomated everything and did a full black custom interior ( cordura seats and side pannels ) all black carpets and vinal covered all the dash . then i had it lifted and outfited at rubber duck 4x4 he did the original tire rack on the back and front brushguard and the lift and 308's with electronic lockers front and rear and now she sits on 41.5 pitbulls she has plow springs up front to keep it from saging and a 12k warn winch with synthetic cable . all half shafts and hub gears upgraded to 12k shafts and gears full under body factory protection down the center and 3/16 thick steel plates and rock guards suround the driver and passenger sides and floorboards , then converted it to a slant back and dynomated all that as well . all lights converted to leds with 2 (excessively bright ) vision x bars up front and 1 in the rear . converted remaining interior to black to match . custom rear step bumper kenwood double din with nav , cb , and all billet aluminum guage bezzels ( we make them at our facility and thats how i got into this mess in the first place lol ) more im sure but have to dig through a pile of paperwork to name everything . it is 1 of 50 or so slant backs in the world (civi) only 39 ever made it to public and only 11 GOOD conversions were ever done . PHILS autobody down the road from am general HE IS THE HUMMER BODY MAN . the paint speakes for itself all freehand like mill spec and it got labeled the MAD COW .
