Yes it is cumbersome. My XR400 sits high and is heavy. It rolled back on me and the sharp license plate left me needing 5 stitches . You also need to watch out for the rear glass in the doors. Best is to back up to a hill or curb. Sometimes you can back right into a bank and roll it right on. Two people is nice and have your straps ready before you load it. Here is one I built and it's been perfect.Anyone here have a setup like that? Is it cumbersome getting the bike loaded up that high?
I think you're talking about this style. It's a hydraulic bottle jack that drops down and you just wheel the bike right over it then jack it up. No lifting the bike at all, but maybe a bit if your van is really high. They're pricey thoWith a 6" lift and 34's I'm not sure how I'd even get it up there. Does it drop down or anything? Can you take a close up picture of how it's connected if it's not too much trouble? The smaller footprint would be great. Making decisions is hard.
I have the Mx Hauler style too (motojack rack- out of business- same almost)
Works great- also have an extension to clear spare tire- no issues.
