What are you doing to need it so often? I hardly ever have to jump my vehicles.
I picked up a Microstart XP-1 for my first off road trip. I consider it cheap insurance. You can't control everything, and a dead battery is a non issue with one of these.
Well, only once that I can remember, actually. In fact, in all my years driving, I've never even carried jumper cables. But, I work at an auto repair shop... we have to jump cars all the time and these little packs save time and hassle. Beyond that, they serve many other purposes, too. I rarely pack gear that does not serve at least two purposes and this one can do a lot more than I'm interested in listing. The simple fact that it pretty much eliminates the need for me to add a second battery to my car is worth it alone.
In my opinion, if this thing saves you (or someone else) once while stranded in the back country, it's well worth the investment. Then again, my opinion is worth what you paid me for it. Ha!
So it holds up to the abuse of the shop than. I just need to sell my old heavy one 1st lol
I'm telling you, man. These things are cool. We have a couple big jump packs at the shop and I won't use them any more. I just used mine to rescue a customer who's car wouldn't start just down the road from the shop. Screw lugging those big things around. We also used one to bench test a starter the other day... too easy. When the big jumpers in the shop fail, they'll be replaced by the smaller units for sure.
I believe that Stanley is a lithium ion battery, not LiFePO4. Both involve lithium but not the same technology.Has anyone tried the Stanley? 54 bucks on Amazon right now.
Here is a LiFePO4 jump starter that is $54.99

For that price I decided what the heck and ordered one.

That's 11 amp-hours, not straight amps. The "starting current" is listed as 200 amps, with a peak current of 400 amps.
[shrug] they are all in that ballpark. The Powerall is 12ah ($99.95)and has 119 four or five star ratings out of 138 total. The MicroStart XP-3 is 13ah ($112) and has 19 five-star ratings out of 20 total (and has the same 200 amp starting current rating). They must be doing something right, lots of folks are jump starting cars with them.

The Maxmade doesn't have any ratings yet, but for half the price I figured it was worth a try.
