I just checked mine after 2 months and it still works.

There is and on off switch on the X-5.

this is the model that I have, not sure if we're talking about the same unit.

but there is a secure on/off switch.

Ive ran a mini fridge and jump another vehilce with it without the need for another charge, they also claim it'll jump a diesel.

I purchased a similar model to use here at the shop, best money I've ever spent on a tool. I jump start customer vehicles almost daily and got tired of wheeling my larger unit which is essentially a car battery in a plastic case with wheels.

Since all of our Land Cruisers have dual batteries, I've never thought twice about having to bring jumper cables with me when we go off road. But now, I'll get one of these for each vehicle for extra peace of mind.

What works really well is the Juno Power system. Super compact and light, easy to use, I used it to jump the dead battery on my Corolla. But carry it around with me as it also doubles up as a phone power pack. So far great product for the cost

I've have Micro Start and so far can only speak positively.

It resides in my rig & it retains it's charge (in the heat & cold).

When I've needed it (or more precisely when others needed to borrow it) it performs as advertised.

After needing to jump my buddy's rig out in the mountains he was convinced.

I still carry cables but it's nice to have backup if I'm stuck by myself (& don't want to wait).

It's compact & doesn't take up much space. I got a small zip pouch that mounts to my MOLLE seat panels & so I can move it between vehicles.

Already feel I got my money's worth.

Where is the best place to by a micro start. Amazon would be best but i do you deal with a bad unit or one with issues that requiring returning since amazon won't take returns.

I bought one on Amazon because I had a bunch of credit card Thank You points. Worked out fine.

I have also seen them for sale at an Interstate Battery store.

This happened to mine the fist time I used it for real - Volks GTI battery was totally drained by my sister leaving the headlights on for four days. She tried cranking several times and then it went pop-crackle-smokey smell.. Ordered a replacement set of battery clamps. Would not crank the Deisel GTI much at all with a full charge on the unit.

I love these things.. I sell this one..

so far heres the durability stories..

started a 3.9 v6 in a dakota with no battery twice.
guy who works for me is a Shriner.. someone left the lights on in their electric golf cart, drew the battery dead, they drove the cart a 1/4 mile with the jumper pack..

neat little buggers....
